Patron

A chestnut Purebred Arabian stallion foaled at Tersk Stud in 1966 by Aswan out of Podruga. His pedigree united the Egyptian type introduced through Aswan with the athletic Russian strength of Priboj’s line. Exported to the Netherlands in 1972, he became a three-time Dutch National Champion Stallion. His importance was not primarily numerical: through Padron and Abdullah he founded influence that still shapes the modern Arabian show horse.

  • Bred at Tersk Stud in the Soviet Union and exported to the Netherlands in 1972.
  • Three-time Dutch National Champion Stallion.
  • Historical records credit him with 94 foals in the Netherlands: a smaller numerical output than some contemporaries, but exceptional leverage through pivotal sons.
  • Sired Padron, the 1981 Canadian National Champion and 1982 Scottsdale and US National Champion who produced more than 700 registered offspring.
